Google has officially confirmed that the Pixel 10 series will be introduced during the upcoming "Made by Google" event on August 20, 2025. In the run-up to the event, the tech giant has been teasing the new smartphones through visuals and brief clips, including showcasing a new Moonstone color variant.
Among the anticipated devices, the standard Pixel 10 is drawing attention for its rumored set of high-end features, many of which are expected to be drawn from previous Pro models. Here are the key improvements expected in this year’s Pixel 10.
1. Tensor G5 Processor for Enhanced Speed and Efficiency
The Pixel 10 lineup will likely be powered by Google’s new in-house chip, the Tensor G5. Built using TSMC’s 3nm fabrication process, the chip aims to improve both energy efficiency and processing power compared to earlier versions.
2. Advanced Camera Capabilities with Telephoto and Macro Functions
The base Pixel 10 is expected to receive a notable camera upgrade with the addition of an 11MP telephoto lens, reportedly using Samsung’s 3J1 sensor. This is in addition to the standard main and ultrawide setup. A new tele-macro functionality is also likely, utilizing both the telephoto and ultrawide lenses to capture detailed close-up shots.
3. 6.3-inch Display with 120Hz Refresh Rate
This year, the Pixel 10 is projected to come with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. Enhanced PWM dimming could reduce flicker and eye strain, especially during prolonged use.
4. Qi2 Wireless Charging Integration
Qi2 wireless charging is expected to be supported, making the Pixel 10 compatible with the latest wireless power standards. Whether or not it receives full Qi2 Ready certification or includes magnetic alignment remains uncertain, but the upgrade should deliver more efficient charging and potentially faster speeds.
5. Complimentary Google AI Pro Subscription
Buyers of the Pixel 10 may be offered a limited-time Google AI Pro subscription trial, potentially lasting 3 or 6 months. This service would provide access to new AI features, including tools for video and image generation, expanded cloud storage, and advanced model access.
While these new features point to a substantial hardware and software leap over the Pixel 9, early reports suggest that pricing for the Pixel 10 will remain consistent with last year’s launch. This could make it an appealing option for users considering an upgrade.
